Coffee Cup Inspiration – Part 1

So anyone who knows me well, knows I cannot survive without my daily morning coffee fix. Ben and I are regular visitors of a certain well known coffee house, and in April they served their coffee in the most beautiful limited edition cups. I just knew these cups would serve as great crafting inspiration and indeed they did. So I thought I’d bring you a 3 part blog to show you my own artistic interpretation of each cup!!

For this card, I stamped two black flourishes from First Sight and stamped some Petite Petals in watermelon wonder. I punched the petite petals out, along with some itty bitty accent flowers in melon mambo and elegant eggplant cardstock and then assembled and adhered all the flower cut outs onto my flourishes. I then took my tiny leaf stamp from Endless Thanks and stamped these in cucumber crush over the leafy parts of the flourishes. I stamped my butterflies from the classic stamp set Papillon Potpourri in black and then sponged them in melon mambo and island indigo (these matched the butterflies on the other side of the coffee cup), and crushed curry to match the yellow butterfly shown in the pic of my cup above, before punching them out with the coordinating elegant butterfly punch and bitty butterfly punch.  I placed my butterflies as if flying between the flourishes and popped then up on dimensionals so that their wings were elevated. Finally I stamped my ‘friend to friend’ from Teeny Tiny Sentiments and finished with some basic rhinestones in the centres of the bitty flowers and on either side of the sentiment before mounting my whisper white top layer on two layers of basic black card stock. I absolutely love this card and it came out better than I imagined it would. Would love to hear what you think, so please leave a comment below! I’ll publish parts 2 & 3 of the rest of this blog this week xx
