Coffee Cup Inspiration – Part 3

My third and final card was created using the gorgeous Reason for the Season stamp set. (Please scroll down to read parts 1 & 2 of this 3 part blog!).  Though sold as a Christmas stamp set, the main flower image can be used in lots of different ways. It is a two step stamp, so I started by stamping the outline of the flower in Memento black ink, and filled in the petals with the second stamp in watermelon wonder ink and coloured in the centres with a Black Stampin’ write marker. I stamped my leaves from Vintage Leaves and sponged in the centres with pear pizzazz and wild wasabi ink. I then coloured in random parts of the leaves in black to mimic the leaves on the cup.

I sponged soft sky into the background and then used a new stamp set called ‘playful backgrounds’ which is an exiting sneak peek from the brand new Stampin’ Up! catalogue which will be released in June. I stamped the tiny dots in memento black ink in the background, and silver heat embossed the larger circles. My sentiment comes from the wonderful Acorny Thank You stamp set which I then punched out and edged in watermelon wonder.

Finally I scattered some rhinestones and finished with some basic black twine and a vintage faceted button. I layered my card on black and white cardstock to make the top panel really pop.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my three coffee cup cards as much as I enjoyed creating them. I chose colours and styles I would never normally use and I love how unique and striking each card has turned out in its own way!

Don’t forget that all the supplies I used to make these cards can be purchased in the ‘shop now’ section of this website and please let me know what you thought of my mini card series in the ‘comments’ section above! xx
