Lovely as a tree is such a classic stamp set and its beauty is in its simplicity. It is also the oldest stamp set in the Stampin’ Up! Catalogue! I decided to pair it with the Watercolor Wash background stamp and this was the result.
I began by stamping my row of trees (one stamp) in memento black ink on my whisper white card front. The colours I used to create the background were crushed curry, pear pizzazz, marina mist, rich razzleberry & wisteria wonder. I layed the crushed curry ink pad to the back of the Watercolor Wash stamp before sponging on the other colours which is why the marina mist finished up a green colour! I then stamped my banner from another sneak peek stamp set from the new catalogue, Thoughtful Banners, and punched it out with the coordinating punch. I sponged the ends of the banner in pear pizzazz and mounted my card front onto pear pizzazz cardstock before adhering these layers to a basic black card base. Love the simple elegance of this and think it could work as a male or female card. Hope you like it too xx
