Wherever You Go

It’s Father’s Day in the UK today and I racked my brain long and hard to come up with a special card for my dad.  Generally, its thought that masculine cards should be more muted in colour and design.  But my dad loves colour and artistry so I decided to go all out and create my card using the gorgeous Wherever You Go stamp set.  I had my eye on this stamp set the moment I spotted it in the new Stampin’ Up! catalogue. Here’s the card I created for him.

Now it must be said, I am not the worlds best watercolourer! But I knew dad would appreciate my effort in any case 😉

The stamp set is kind of abstract and so are my background colours which I painted using my SU ink pads and Aqua painter (such a clever tool for water colouring!)

I heat embossed my sun image using the stunning new copper embossing powder and stamped my bridge and birds with black memento ink to ensure the black ink didn’t bleed. My sentiment came from the ever useful Thoughtful Banners stamp set.  I know it’s unusual for a Father’s Day card, but I hope my dad loves it as much as I love him ❤️❤️❤️
