Country Livin’

Though I studied the new Stampin’ Up! catalogue for weeks (and I do mean studied 😂), somehow I still managed to miss the very cool Country Livin’ stamp set. I only noticed it when I saw some of the gorgeous creations that had been made using this set on the wonderful Stampin’ Cafe’s Facebook page, and immediately I knew I would be adding it to my next order!  The boots look very similar to a pair of Ugg boots I recently purchased so probably another reason this stamp set was calling out to me!  Here’s the card I came up with.

This card is a great example of how well Stampin’ Up!’s stamp sets coordinate together.  I started by stamping my textured border in stamped off crumb cake ink, using the brilliant Timeless Textures stamp set.  This set is such a must have!   Next, I stamped my boots image from Country Livin’ in soft suede on shimmery white cardstock, before watercolouring them in, also in soft suede ink.  I fussy cut my boots out and adhered them to my whisper white card front with dimensionals.  Next, I stamped my flower images in versamark using  Timeless Love stamp set, before heat embossing my flowers using copper embossing powder.

Once set, I watercoloured two sets of flowers in flirty flamingo, sweet sugarplum and peekaboo peach,  and two sets in pool party, wisteria wonder and rose red.  I then painted the flower centres in crushed curry and the leaves in pear pizzazz.  The sentiment was created using the Labeler Alphabet Set, which again I stamped in versamark and heat embossed in copper, before cutting each letter out.  I then wrapped some burlap ribbon around the bottom of the card, adhered my flowers around the boots using snail adhesive and my words using glue dots.  Finally, I attached my card front to a whisper white mat, and adhered this to a crumb cake card base.  Such a different style for me, but I love the way it turned out.  What do you think? Post me a comment and let me know xx
