Butterfly Basics

Continuing my Gran’s 90th birthday celebrations, here is the second of the three cards I created.  I decided to keep the style simple yet sophisticated so opted for a rich razzleberry, old olive and gold colour way.

I started by stamping my fern leaf image in old olive from the gorgeous butterfly basics stamp set.

I stamped the beautiful lacey butterfly on scrap white cardstock in rich razzleberry from the same set.  Then I die cut this out using the butterflies thinlits dies and the gold foil overlay using the bold butterflies framelits dies.  I attached the gold foil overlay with a dimensional and adhered the butterfly flat over the tip of the leaf.

I trimmed a 2″ piece of gold fabulous foil designer acetate and adhered it to the bottom of the card front to create a border and wrapped a piece of gold natural trim ribbon around the top of the acetate.

I stamped the banner from Banners For You and the sentiment from Thoughful Banners, and gold heat embossed both before die cutting it out using the Bunch of Banners framelits dies and attaching it to my card front with dimensionals.

Finally, I die cut the 90 from a gold foil sheet using the Large Numbers framelits dies and adhered these with dimensionals, and embellished with some metallic enamel hearts for a little glamour.
