I was asked to create an anniversary card and my immediate thoughts went to the gorgeous Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits Dies which never fail me. But as you know, I like to keep things fresh. So I decided to create my own heart base using the Sweet & Sassy framelits dies and, taking inspiration from the catty, I stamped and clear heat embossed images from the stunning Paisleys & Posies stamp set over the heart. I then watercoloured over my heart with the pretty colour combo – flirty flamingo, sweet sugarplum and peakaboo peach.
My sentiment comes from Best Birds, and I gold heat embossed this over vellum to keep the elegant look of the card. To finish I decided to cut some gold accents out from gold foil sheets using the Paisley framelits Dies and attach my card front to a flirty flamingo mat on crumb cake base. Here is my finished card.
Overall I was pleased with the finished result although if I had white heat embossed my images instead of clear heat embossing them, this would have made my paisley images really ‘pop’ against the watercolour. Which look do you prefer – soft or sharp? Would love to hear your thoughts x
