Hearts Come Home is one of the many beautiful new stamp sets in the Autumn/Winter catty which goes live on Friday! As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to do the Bokeh technique.
I started off by randomly daubering my colours (as pictured – crushed curry, cherry cobbler, pumpkin pie, pacific point & berry burst) onto my base cardstock until I had a rainbow effect on my card. Cherry Cobbler is such a great Christmas colour, I knew that had to be incorporated somehow!
Next I cut a selection of different sized circles out of a piece of window sheet, using the Layering Circles Dies to create a template. I then used a sponge dauber to apply white stazon ink to the template until I was left with different sized white circles over the rainbow background. The effect is more beautiful if the intensity of the white changes from circle to circle. The finished card pictured shows the beautiful result of the ‘bokeh’ technique.
My black images were stamped in black stazon ink. When stamping black over the white, it can be a bit tricky to achieve a sharp image so it’s best to let your cardstock dry overnight before you stamp over it.
Remember this gorgeous new stamp set will be available to purchase from the new Autumn/Winter catalogue from Friday 1st September and you can purchase it here at my online shop!
Thanks for you tutorial on how to achieve this look…Always very creative design Sarah
