The Year of Cheer Speciality Designer Series Paper is sooo beautiful and Christmassy but did you know how versatile it is as well? I love the foil prints for the festive period but I also love how easy it is to add some colour for a completely different look.
For this project I added two colour ways to the DSP for each card for a more contemporary feel. From top left and going clockwise the colours I used were rich razzleberry and wisteria wonder, daffodil delight and bermuda bay, soft sky and sweet sugarplum, wisteria wonder and tranquil tide and finally lemon lime twist and berry burst. I applied the colour using a sponge brayer, and the way the foiled gold and silver snowflakes shine through is beautiful, though this is hard to convey in the photos.
The sentiment was silver heat embossed onto vellum cardstock and comes from the Christmas Quilt stamp set and finished with a metallic enamel gold star and silver ribbon for some added sparkle. My Christmas tree comes from the now retired Festival of Trees stamp set but I really think any christmassy image would work perfectly in this format as long as it wasn’t too large – bells, a reindeer – the choice is yours! My fresh take on a colourful Chistmas and I love it!
