Snowflake Showcase – Snowflake card with galaxy style background

The Snowflake Showcase is simply stunning. This gorgeous set makes it easy to stretch my creativity and before I knew it, I was attempting my first ever galaxy-style blended background!

These backgrounds have been dry blended and I have also stayed with one colour family for each card so I’m not sure it qualifies officially as the galaxy technique (which I believe is usually watercoloured). But it is my unique take on that technique.

I had so much fun creating these backgrounds and they all came together relatively quickly too.

The snowflake is cut from the largest die in the Snowfall die set and it is absolutely beautiful. I cut each snowflake from the new white velvet sheets – oh my, how divine!!! This paper is pure luxury, and I love its texture and the way it pops so vividly against the blended background.

The colour combos I used were:

RED – poppy parade, lovely lipstick, real red, cherry cobbler, merry merlot

PINK – petal pink, flirty flamingo, melon mambo, berry burst

GREEN – lemon lime twist, mint macaron, old olive, tranquil tide

PURPLE – highland heather, gorgeous grape, Rich razzleberry, blackberry bliss

BLUE – coastal cabana, balmy blue, pacific point, night of navy

Don’t forget the snowflake showcase will only be available to purchase until the end of November so don’t miss out on this beautiful and timeless set!! To purchase any of the products, just click on the product picture below. Thanks for stopping by xx

  2. I just watched your video and was well impressed! Love your cards and techniques and so I had to share your video on my FB group page, Roberta’s Artistic Adventures. I have a YouTube channel too but haven’t been able to make many videos since I moved in March. I love to share new artists on my group page with my friends there! My channel and following is small, but you should be getting a few new viewers and subbies from there soon!

  3. Since I had all the colors mentioned, green was my try out stamp. Instead of the snowflake trinkets and velveteen paper, I used shiny white paper, large snowflake, a smaller snowflake die and a med. size diamond in the center. Thanks for the idea!!

    1. Hi Lois, I’m so glad you managed to use other products to create your card, especially since the velveteen paper is now sold out in the UK! Those snowflake dies layer so well, I’m sure your version would have been beautiful.
