Very Vintage Colour Challenge

I entered a colour challenge this week and Very Vintage was the stamp set I decided to showcase.

The colours for the challenge were melon mambo, mango melody and granny apple green – what a fabulous colour combination and all from our brights collection.

I focused the colour in one area of the card, and created texture by embossing and distressing the white front panel.

I ruched up some retired melon mambo ribbon from my stash but you could use any ribbon to achieve a similar effect, or even colour your own!

Glad I got to put my spin on Very Vintage before it’s gone for good at the end of the month xx

Penned & Painted – Another Spinner Card

Having posted my previous blog on a spinner card using Touches of Texture, I was asked to create a similar card for a friend.  I decided to keep the format the same but this time used Penned & Painted and made the flowers bolder and brighter, as if the bee was flying through them.

I love the whimsical nature of this stamp set.  I chose rose red, wisteria wonder, rich razzleberry and pumpkin pie for the large flowers, stamping off to achieve the paler outer, and stamping full strength for the centres of the flowers.  I adore the lady birds (soo cute!) and there’s even a little stamp to stamp their red centres 😍

The mechanics of the spinner card are so easy to achieve using the Shooting Star Bundle – the dies do all the work for you!  If you need a reminder on how to use the dies, you can watch my Spinner Card You Tube Tutorial.

To finish, I embossed my sentiment with silver embossing powder from the Sweet Cupcake stamp set, and punched it out with my Classic Label Punch before framing it with two metallic stars.  Hope you like it xx
