Birthday Blooms for Mum

It’s my mum’s birthday today and I wanted to create something gorgeous and unique – a bit like her 😍!

I wanted to achieve a fresh look with Birthday Blooms and I love it paired with the gorgeous Sheet Music background stamp. Oh how I love each and every one of my background stamps!

I watercoloured my flower in stunning berry burst, which is fast becoming a favourite for me. I used pear pizzazz for the leaves and sponged soft sky ink onto my musical label, before adhering the images to some gorgeous berry burst Color Theory DSP.  The label itself was cut using the Lots of Labels framelits dies.  My sentiment was stamped from the Beatiful You stamp set and the ‘mum’ was created from the Labeler Alphabet stamp set.  My mum really is a gorgeous mum in every way so I hope her birthday is as fabulous as she is! 😘

Blooms & Wishes Card in a Box

It’s my good friend Jackie’s birthday today and I wanted to make her a card she would love!  I decided it would have to be a card in box for that wow factor.

Usually, I make these types of cards to fit in our UK standard C6 envelope.  But since I wanted to decorate it with larger flowers inside, I decided to make it wider than that, and make my own custom made envelope using the fabulous Envelope Punch Board.

I used a piece of A4 crumb cake cardstock to create the framework of my card in a box.  No matter what size card in a box you create, the format is always the same, and in this case I scored my lines at 2.75″ intervals.

I decided to use the pretty Blooms and Bliss DSP to mat against the lower sides and top flaps of my box and naturally used the matching Blooms and Wishes stamp set to create some big bold flowers, which I stamped in sweet sugarplum, blushing bride, island indigo and rich razzleberry – colours which I took from the DSP.  I then fussy cut them out and adhered them to the centre panels of my card.

I am so in love with the froggie from Love you Lots and loved the idea of him sitting amongst the flowers.  I stamped him in memento black ink and coloured him using my emerald envy Stampin’ write marker, before fussy cutting him out and adhering him to the flowers.

To finish my card off, I stamped my little bumble bees from the Shooting Star stamp set and cut them out with the matching Sliding Star framelits. I then adhered them to my card, silver embossed my sentiment from Birthday Blooms on the front flap, and finished off with some pearl embellishments for the centres of my flowers and a silver ribbon bow.

Happy Birthday Jacks, hope you love your card! 😘😘😘
