Of all the beautiful Christmas bundles I’ve purchased from the Autumn/Winter catalogue so far, the Dashing Deer Bundle has gotten the most use. I love deer and The Detailed Deer Dies are just so stunning.
I love how sparkly and elegant this Christmas shaker card turned out. I know I should give some of the other foil paper a chance for goodness sake, but for some reason I am totally hooked on copper this year and I LOVE the copper reindeer paired with the black organdy ribbon and gorgeous metallic sequins!
The lovely sentiment comes from Making Christmas Bright and fits the card and all of its shiny elements perfectly.
Thanks for stopping by today 😘 xx
I hummed and hawed for ages over what kind of card to make for my friend Jackie’s 40th, but in the end I went with an underwater theme as that is the theme of her party.
I decided to use the Magical Mermaid stamp set in a copper, black and white colourway.
I copper heat embossed the gorgeous mermaid onto vellum and fussy cut her out, and used the scattered sequins embossing folder on my card front to mimic the bubbles of the water.
I adore the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies. I was lucky enough to earn them during sale-a-bration, and I can’t believe how much use they’ve already had! They are so versatile and I use them for scrapbooking as well as card making. I chose ‘Amazing You’ as Jackie really is – an amazing friend and person.
I just love how my card turned out. The metallics sequin assortment and metallic pearls coordinated perfectly and pulled it all together.
Happy 40th Jacks, hope you have a special day 😘 xx
I must admit that I almost overlooked this stamp set in the Autumn/Winter catalogue. It’s probably because I would choose contemporary Christmas design over traditional every time. However on closer inspection the Wise Men from Afar Stamp Set is both classic and elegant and is perfect for my favourite technique of all time – heat embossing.
I chose copper as my metallic and when I was trying to figure out how to style these cards, I realized that the beautiful rich tones in the Eastern Palace Speciality DSP would work perfectly.
The beautiful copper star in the first card was die cut using copper foil sheets and the Starlight Thinlits Dies.
In the second card, I used the Eastern Medallions Thinlits Dies to create the stunning intricate copper embellishment behind the wise men. Just love the way the Eastern Palace Suite works so well with this timeless stamp set, hope you do too xx
