Easel Card

I’ve seen so many easel cards on Pinterest so thought I would have a go at making one of my own.  Once I started, I was surprised to see how easy the technique actually was despite it looking more complex.  Once you’ve created your card base, all you do is fold one of the sides in half again, to create the folding mechanism for your easel!

I created this card for a friend and wanted to wish her good luck.  Here’s the finished card.

The card features some gorgeous retired DSP in very vanilla and black, which I sponged with ink to colour in the flowers.  I then matted my card on very vanilla cardstock.

My ‘Good Luck’ sentiment came from the lovely Over The Rainbow stamp set and I cut it out using the Lots of Labels Dies.  I know it seems like I use these dies a lot but they really are so versatile and elegant!

Once I’d created the folding mechanism of the card, I added a button to act as a stopper and keep the card standing up.  The other great thing about easel cards is that they fold flat to post!  Brilliant! Give this technique a go yourself xx
