Healing Hugs is a such a beautiful Distinktive stamp set. I love so many things about it, from the gorgeous fonts to the detailed images. The leaves in particular are stunning. But I have struggled to achieve a contemporary look when using the rose stamp.
I challenged myself to create a set of cards using this stamp set that was both pretty and contemporary,
I’m usually a fan of bold colours as you know, but for this challenge I decided to pare things back, and I chose an alternative rainbow palette using Poppy Parade, So Saffron, Flirty Flamingo, Mango Melody, Lemon Lime Twist, Coastal Cabana & Highland Heather. I also stamped my rose image off once to achieve a softer hue.
I added black leaves for a less traditional take, and a black mat layer to make the coloured roses stand out even more.
My sentiment comes from Floral Frames and I will be so sad to see this stamp set go next month. ‘Sending Love’ is such an easy sentiment to use, and I love the cool font used in this set.
These cards have made me fall in love with this stamp set again and I’m excited to see what else I can challenge myself to create with it next! xx
The Floral Frames stamp set is so pretty and versatile but for some reason it had never ‘clicked’ to me that you can literally insert any sentiment you like into to the Centre of the wreath – lightbulb moment 💡 !!!!
I’m such a fan of this gorgeous stitched label die and somehow it has made it onto almost all of my Easter projects! Its size works perfectly with this design and I love the fresh fig/lovely lipstick, pear pizzazz and mossy meadow colour way.
I left the flowers white and added clear wink of stella for some subtle shimmer. The finished effect of the cards is really fresh and clean.
A fellow demonstrator asked the members of our team if we could send a handmade card to a brave young girl who is facing a tough journey ahead.
I wanted to get involved and decided to use Floral Frames and that simple yet lovely sentiment, ‘sending love’ on my card. I love it when sentiments are easy to use and you can convey a lot with just a few words.
I kept the design very simple and coloured in the flowers with my Stampin’ blends before adhering the frame itself to a corrugated mat. What a fabulous embossing folder, uber chic!
Never underestimate the power of a handmade card. I hope this one lifts Evelyne’s spirits and brightens her day 😘 xx
