A Whole Lot of Lovely

I’m loving the DSP on offer from Stampin’ Up! of late and though the foiled ones are my absolute favorite, I think the Whole Lot of Lovely DSP is so pretty and made for the perfect backdrop for this first birthday card. I especially love the crisp colour scheme of this paper.

The sentiment and roses were stamped from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set and my beautiful powder pink bear comes from A Little Wild which is available in a bundle with the matching framelits.  The tag itself was punched using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and the number 1 was die cut from some dazzling diamonds glimmer paper using the Large Numbers Framelits Dies.  I used the gorgeous powder pink shimmer ribbon and black bakers twine for the tag with some sparkly black rhinestones to complete the look.

A Nice Cuppa….

A friend asked me to create a special card for her mum’s 80th birthday. Here’s what I came up with.

final-21

A Nice Cuppa is retiring at the end of May so there are only a few weeks left to buy this lovely set.  I started by stamping my teacup onto crumb cake cardstock and cut this out using my big shot & the matching Cups & Kettles Framelits Dies.  I wanted to go for soft colours so stamped the flowers from Everything Eleanor directly onto my whisper white cardstock in mint macaron, wisteria wonder, pink pirouette & Bermuda bay. I also added a few flowers in rich razzleberry for contrast.  I stamped a couple of tea stain rings for interest in the background from Timeless Textures and added a strip of pink pirouette ribbon and silver ribbon across the card. Finally I adhered the cut out teacup over the ribbon so that the teacup looks like it is holding the flowers and added a couple of cut out flowers in wisteria wonder around the sides of the teacup on dimensionals.  My sentiment is a sneak peek from the brand new Thoughful Banners stamp set which will be in the new catalogue and I cut the banner out by hand. The 80 was cut from silver foil cardstock using the brilliant Large Numbers Framelits Dies (can’t tell you how handy these are!) and finally I embellished with some pearls on the card and the teacup.  I finished by mounting my card front (5″ x 5″) to crumb cake (5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″) and a wisteria wonder card base (11″ x 11″, scored in half).  The colours and design of card are quite unusual for me as they are beautifully soft, but I think they’re well suited to the occasion – just hope the recipient loves it – 80 is quite the milestone!! 8️⃣0️⃣ 🎂🍾
