Balloon Builders

Balloon Builders is a stamp set that carried over from last year’s catalogue.  Despite flicking past it many times, it just wasn’t shouting out to me.  But recently I decided to order it anyway and just give it a go.

Oh my, I am now officially in love with this stamp set 😍. Talk about versatile! Just from this one stamp set, I managed to create all four of the cards pictured above! The images are self explanatory, and I decided to keep this set of cards clean and simple, stamping straight onto a piece of whisper white cardstock cut using the Lots of Labels Dies.  I then backed each label with a piece of the Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate with the same dies.  (N.B this gorgeous acetate comes with a clear protective film on in which must be peeled off before use).  Once my label was popped up on dimensionals, I matted my card front to a piece of coordinating cardstock to match the ink used and finished with the sentiment, three rhinestones for a little glamour, and a piece of silver ribbon which I tied around each card for a  fun and pretty accent.

I just love how each card has a different theme, and that’s just the beginning!   I’m looking forward to trying my hand at the next series of cards in the coming weeks once I come up with some more exiting ideas on how to use this fantastic set xx

Love at First Sight

With all the excitement of the launch of the new SU catalogue and stamp sets, I didn’t want us to forget about some of the beautiful stamp sets which have carried over into the new catalogue! One of these sets is the gorgeous First Sight stamp set which is what I used to create this card.

I inked the flourish stamp in memento black ink and stamped this randomly all over my whisper white card front to create my background pattern.  Then on separate white cardstock, I stamped my hearts in rich razzleberry, melon mambo, wild wasabi, daffodil delight and bermuda bay using the heart shaped stamp from this set.  I punched my hearts out with the sweetheart punch and sponged the edges of each heart in the corresponding colours.  Finally I stamped my sentiment and cut this and the black border out using the Lots of Labels Framelits Dies.  I adhered some stitched satin black ribbon (now retired but any black ribbon or twine would work) and adhered my sentiment with dimensionals.  I then assembled my hearts on dimensionals and embellished with a couple of rhinestones.  I mounted my card front to a black mat and adhered this to my whisper white card base.  I love the richness of this card and the way the bright colours pop against the black and white background.  Wishing you all a crafty weekend xx
