Moon Baby

My cousin recently had a baby boy and Moon Baby remains my favourite welcome baby stamp set and the obvious choice for her card. This time I opted for a smoky slate, daffodil delight and bermuda bay colour way. I love the way smoky slate pairs so well with the other Stampin’ Up! colours – it’s such a great neutral. I colored my baby image using the fabulous watercolour pencils and fussy cut this out before popping it up on dimensionals to my smoky slate card front. The clouds were made from dazzling diamonds glimmer paper and punched out using the tree builder punch. I adhered some of the clouds flat and popped others up to create dimension before adding the beautiful smoky slate gingham ribbon to finish, along with a few metallic enamel shapes.

Moon Baby

I just adore the Moon Baby stamp set.  It’s the perfect set for a new baby card and the family I was sending this card to have a love for anything rainbow.  So I knew I wanted to create my rainbow backdrop with the Watercolor Wash background stamp.  I used sponge daubers to ink the back of my stamp with all the brights – melon mambo, bermuda bay, daffodil delight, pumpkin pie, rich razzleberry and pacific point.  I wanted softer, even colour on the baby image so used the fabulous watercolour pencils.  These pencils are amazing – in fact I’m hoping that Stampin’ Up! will eventually produce them in all the colours!  I heat embossed my sentiment from Milestone Moments and mounted my card front on a melon mambo mat for a bright, beautiful finish.
