Wise Men From Afar Meets Eastern Palace

I must admit that I almost overlooked this stamp set in the Autumn/Winter catalogue. It’s probably because I would choose contemporary Christmas design over traditional every time.  However on closer inspection the Wise Men from Afar Stamp Set is both classic and elegant and is perfect for my favourite technique of all time – heat embossing.

I chose copper as my metallic and when I was trying to figure out how to style these cards, I realized that the beautiful rich tones in the Eastern Palace Speciality DSP would work perfectly.

The beautiful copper star in the first card was die cut using copper foil sheets and the Starlight Thinlits Dies.

In the second card, I used the Eastern Medallions Thinlits Dies to create the stunning intricate copper embellishment behind the wise men.  Just love the way the Eastern Palace Suite works so well with this  timeless stamp set, hope you do too xx

Climbing Orchid – Three ways

The Climbing Orchid stamp set and matching Orchid Builder framelits are so beautiful and are currently available in a discounted bundle at 10% off in the current annual Stampin’ Up! catalogue. Whilst I was excited about using these stamps, I was also a little overwhelmed with the number of stamps in this set! You can achieve so many looks and can also keep layering the Orchid petals to create a real 3D effect.

As you can see, I created three ‘stepped up’ cards with this stamp set and the possibilities are endless.  To create my orchids, I firstly clear heat embossed them on shimmery white cardstock.  I then painted over the heat embossed images so that the colours could blend together. I love the colour combination of berry burst, fresh fig and lemon lime twist.  The watercolour backgrounds offset the orchids beautifully, but I also love the simplicity of the floating orchids on crumb cake background.  With this set, anything goes but if you love orchids as much as I do, it’s a must!

Remarkable You

Hi everyone! Apologies for my longer than intended hiatus but I was busy working on my own special creation 😉 – My baby boy Grayson arrived in April and he has certainly been keeping me on my toes!

But I am pleased to say I have found my way back to my craft room and am looking forward to showing you some of the projects I have been working on using the amazing products in the not so new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue.  The first thing that caught my eye were the stunning new In Colours for 2017-2019. Stampin’ Up! have outdone themselves and I think these are my favourite set of In Colours for a while.  I just love the way they compliment one another.

I made these thank you cards using the gorgeous Remarkable You stamp set and the fabulous Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.  I just adore the stitched effect and can’t get enough of these Dies.  I stamped the flowers in lemon lime twist, tranquil tide, fresh fig and berry burst and added some powder pink Embossing Paste in the corners using the Pattern Party Decorative Masks.  Oh how I love embossing paste!!! It’s messy but totally worth it. Love everything about these pretty cards including their simplicity.

Swirly Bird & Layering Love

Here’s the final sneak peek before the new catalogue lauch tomorrow.  A celebration of the new in colours and some random stamped swirls from the gorgeous new Swirly Bird stamp set.  I splattered gold wink of stella on my card front, embellished with a little dapper denim ruched ribbon, and mounted my gold embossed heart (cut from the Sweet & Sassy Framelits) on top of the ribbon.  Love this sentiment from Layering Love! I adhered some pretty die cut gold embossed flowers with pearl centres from Swirly Scribbles Thinlets Dies and mounted my whisper white card front on emerald envy and flirty flamingo Cardstock. Card complete! The new Stampin’ Up! catalogue launches on my online shop at 2am GMT tomorrow morning and I literally can’t wait to get my hands on all the delicious new stamp sets and goodies! Happy crafting & shopping 😉 xx

Swirly Scribbles & Layering Love – Sneak Peek

So we’re just a few days away from the launch of the new Stampin’ Up! catalogue and it’s all getting very exciting now 😊!! Just time for a few more teasers before Wednesday so here is my take on the brand new Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies and Layering Love stamp set.

Such a clean, simple card using the beautiful new in colour ruched ribbons in sweet sugarplum, peekaboo peach and flirty flamingo.  I layered the three ribbons across the card front with fast fuse and cut the pretty pattern in silver foil sheets with the Swirly Scribbles Thinlets dies before adhering that to the top of the ribbons.  I stamped the ‘live, life, love’ from the gorgeous new Layering Love stamp set in memento black ink and cut it out using the brand new Sweet & Sassy Framelits Dies.  Finally, I sponged the edges of the heart in all three colours, popped it up on dimensionals and added a couple of iced rhinestones for a bit of sparkle.  I matted my whisper white card front on flirty flamingo and attached this to my crumb cake card base.  Hope you like it xxx

Stampin’ Up! New In Colours 2016-2018 & Pop of Paradise Stamp Set

So the new Stampin’ Up! catalogue goes live on 1st June and it will not disappoint let me tell you. There are some beautiful new stamp sets coming your way and I’ll be sharing a few projects using them in the coming weeks!  This is the first, and it showcases our brand new In Colours along with the new gorgeous Pop of Paradise stamp set! Here’s the card I created using this beautiful set:

This card features two of my favourite things: pineapples and flamingos! Don’t ask me why I love them, I just always have and apparently they are going to be BIG this season! All the new In Colours feature in the background pineapples here – flirty flamingo, emerald envy, peekaboo peach, dapper denim & sweet sugarplum. At first I wasn’t sure about them (I’m not one for change 😂)  but in actual fact they are beautiful and so summery.  I gold embossed the ‘thinking of you sentiment’ that comes in this Pop of Paradise stamp set and stamped and cut out my leaves. I then assembled them in the centre of my card front beneath the new gorgeous sweet sugarplum ruched ribbon and a mini gold foil doily. Finally, I placed my beautiful flirty flamingo flamingo (!) on top with dimensionals. I mounted my card front to gold foil cardstock and adhered this to my dapper denim card base.  Fun & Fabulous ❤️❤️❤️
