Beautiful Branches Thinlit Dies

It’s my mum’s birthday today and I wanted to make her a special card.  She loves flowers so I decided to use the stunning beautiful branches thinlit dies to create some hydrangeas.  I started by silver embossing my sentiment on a piece of whisper white cardstock measuring 5.5″ x 5.5″, using the Watercolor Words stamp set.

Next I die cut the flowers and stems for my hydrangeas from some dazzling diamonds glimmer paper.  Once all the parts of my flowers had been die cut, I set about watercolouring the glimmer paper flowers in bermuda bay and island indigo, pink pirouette and rose red, and wisteria wonder and perfect plum, and the stems and leaves in pear pizzazz and cucumber crush.

I adhered the hydrangeas to my card front using the fine tip glue pen and added rhinestones to the centres of each flower for a little sparkle.  Finally, I die cut the ‘mum’ using the retired little letters dies from silver foil sheets, before adhering them with dimensional strips, and finishing with a metallic enamel heart.  I attached my card front to a whisper white card base measuring 5 3/4″ x 5 3/4″ to make the flowers really pop. Happy Birthday Mum, hope you have a wonderful day 😘😘😘❤️

Pop of Paradise & Touches of Texture

As you know, I just love flamingoes and am a huge fan of the gorgeous Pop of Paradise stamp set.  I decided to team it with Touches of Texture to create this beautiful array of multicoloured flamingo cards!   I knew the lacey stamp from Touches of Texture would make for a pretty backdrop for my flamingoes.   Using my stamp-a-ma-jig, I stamped the Lacey image repeatedly in bermuda bay, melon mambo, perfect plum and pumpkin pie,  lining it up until the background pattern emerged.

My sentiment came from the wonderful Thoughtful Branches stamp set.  This gorgeous stamp set is available as part of a bundle through August only and is simply a stunning, elegant and timeless stamp set.  I especially love the font of the words in the set which is how I came to choose the ‘for you’.  I silver embossed my sentiment to make it stand out and then tied a piece of silver natural trim ribbon around my card front.

On a separate piece of whisper white cardstock, I stamped my flamingoes in the same colours before fussy cutting them out.  Next , I placed a small silver metallic doily to the right hand side of my ribbon, and adhered my flamingo with dimensionals on top of that.

Finally I added a metallic enamel heart next to my sentiment, and attached my card front to a silver foil mat as pictured above, before attaching my card layers to a whisper white card base.  I really love the elegant combination of all of these stamp sets, hope you do too 💕💕💕

Sprinkles of Life

I love the Sprinkles of Life stamp set. Who doesn’t like a cupcake and every time someone purchases this stamp set, Stampin’ Up! donates a portion of the proceeds to Ronald McDonald House Charities which makes me love it even more!!

I decided to keep this card simple and pretty. I started by heat embossing my ‘happy birthday’ from Watercolor Words in silver on my shimmery white card front.  I then ran my card front through my Big Shot using the polka dot embossing folder to create my background polka dot pattern.  I stamped my cupcakes in crumb cake ink on crumb cake cardstock and stamped my fluffy cupcake tops in crumb cake ink on whisper white cardstock, and punched out my images using the matching tree builder punch. I stamped my butterflies using one of the smaller butterfly stamps from Papillon Potpourri and sponged them in perfect plum, pumpkin pie & bermuda bay ink before punching them out with the bitty butterfly punch.

Finally, I assembled my cupcakes and popped them up on dimensionals, attached the butterflies & added strips of rhinestones, and embellished my card with a silver basic metal button tied with basic black baker’s twine and clear wink of stella on the tops of my cupcakes and butterflies. I attached my card front to a basic black mat and adhered this to my crumb cake card base and voila! A delicious birthday card.
