Penned & Painted – Another Spinner Card

Having posted my previous blog on a spinner card using Touches of Texture, I was asked to create a similar card for a friend.  I decided to keep the format the same but this time used Penned & Painted and made the flowers bolder and brighter, as if the bee was flying through them.

I love the whimsical nature of this stamp set.  I chose rose red, wisteria wonder, rich razzleberry and pumpkin pie for the large flowers, stamping off to achieve the paler outer, and stamping full strength for the centres of the flowers.  I adore the lady birds (soo cute!) and there’s even a little stamp to stamp their red centres 😍

The mechanics of the spinner card are so easy to achieve using the Shooting Star Bundle – the dies do all the work for you!  If you need a reminder on how to use the dies, you can watch my Spinner Card You Tube Tutorial.

To finish, I embossed my sentiment with silver embossing powder from the Sweet Cupcake stamp set, and punched it out with my Classic Label Punch before framing it with two metallic stars.  Hope you like it xx

Shooting Stars – Another spinner card

I created this adorable card using the Shooting Star Bundle (shooting star stamp set with Slider Star Framelits Dies).  To see how to create the spinning mechanism which makes the bee spin from one side to the other, you can click here to watch my video tutorial. This stamp set with matching framelits is such an investment as there is no end to the number of interactive designs you can come up with, and of course when you buy them in a bundle, you save 10% which is even better!  I’d seen a lot of bees flying towards their bee hive, so I decided to be different and have my bee flying towards the flowers!  I stamped my flowers using the versatile Touches of Texture stamp set, in the colours pink pirouette, rose red, wisteria wonder, bermuda bay, elegant eggplant and daffodil delight.  I am in love with the leaf image from Kinda Eclectic and use this stamp whenever I can.  I stamped my leaf image multiple times in wild wasabi, and without re-inking my stamp in between to achieve the different shades of colour.  I coloured my bee in using my daffodil delight and basic black stampin write markers and then brused some gold wink of stella over the the yellow parts of the bee to make him shimmer.  My sentiment came from the same stamp set, and I punched it out using the Classic Label Punch.  Once my bee was placed into position, I scattered a few basic rhinestones into the flower centres and attached my whisper white card front to a bermuda bay mat and then to a wild wasabi card base.  The perfect summer card xx
