Sweet Cupcake

I’ve previously blogged about Sprinkles of Life stamp set (which by the way I still love and is still available in the current catalogue!) but today it’s all about the brand new Sweet Cupcake photopolymer stamp set & matching cupcake cut out Framelits dies.

Oh I how love this new cupcake set! and don’t forget you can purchase both the stamp set and framelits together in a bundle to save 10%.  This was my first play with the set and I decided to go for a clean, contemporary look. I started by watercolouring my shimmery white cardstock background with melon mambo by filling an empty wink of stella pen with water and using it in place of an aqua painer for a high shimmer watercoloured look. I then flicked melon mambo ink on top for a bit of dimension.  While I left my card front to dry, I stamped my three step cupcake topper in wisteria wonder & elegant eggplant, and the cupcake case in crumbcake ink with a touch of early espresso for definition.

My words were stamped from the same stamp set in rich razzleberry ink.  Finally I cut my stamped cupcake images out with the matching Framelits along with my ‘Wish’ which was cut from dazzling diamonds glimmer paper. I adhered some silver metallic thread to the watercoloured panel, placed my cupcake pieces on dimensionals on top of that, and glued my ‘wish’ on top using the fine tip glue pen.  A couple of white perfect accent embellishments and a thin rich razzleberry border to finish, and card complete.  Love this card, hope you do too 💞💞💞

Sprinkles of Life

I love the Sprinkles of Life stamp set. Who doesn’t like a cupcake and every time someone purchases this stamp set, Stampin’ Up! donates a portion of the proceeds to Ronald McDonald House Charities which makes me love it even more!!

I decided to keep this card simple and pretty. I started by heat embossing my ‘happy birthday’ from Watercolor Words in silver on my shimmery white card front.  I then ran my card front through my Big Shot using the polka dot embossing folder to create my background polka dot pattern.  I stamped my cupcakes in crumb cake ink on crumb cake cardstock and stamped my fluffy cupcake tops in crumb cake ink on whisper white cardstock, and punched out my images using the matching tree builder punch. I stamped my butterflies using one of the smaller butterfly stamps from Papillon Potpourri and sponged them in perfect plum, pumpkin pie & bermuda bay ink before punching them out with the bitty butterfly punch.

Finally, I assembled my cupcakes and popped them up on dimensionals, attached the butterflies & added strips of rhinestones, and embellished my card with a silver basic metal button tied with basic black baker’s twine and clear wink of stella on the tops of my cupcakes and butterflies. I attached my card front to a basic black mat and adhered this to my crumb cake card base and voila! A delicious birthday card.
