Simple Sunshine Wishes

A very simple but pretty card for you today, using the gorgeous Sunshine Wishes Thinlit Dies.

I used the flower die from this set to cut a flower from some scrap cardstock.  I then used this cut out flower as a mask, and held it down on my whisper white card front before taking a sponge dauber and sponging some melon mambo ink around and all over the flower.  I moved my flower mask down the page and repeated this sponging technique with soft sky and wisteria wonder until I was left with a pretty ‘spray can’ effect of flowers on my card front.

My sentiment comes from the matching Sunshine Sayings stamp set which I inked in versamark before embossing it using silver embossing powder, and then I flicked some clear wink of stella over my card front for a little shimmer.  Next, I ran a silver foil sheet through my Big Shot with my Bold Butterfly framelits dies, and adhered it in between the flowers on a dimensional so it looks as though it is resting on one of the flowers.  Finally, I scattered a few rhinestones, and attached my card front to a silver foil mat and then to a wisteria wonder card base.  So simple yet pretty, give this masking technique a go yourself xx

Baby Bear

I had great fun over the weekend playing with Baby Bear.  The bear itself is a three step photopolymer stamp set and it is absolutely amazing.  The stamps are so detailed that the resulting image is so life life, it almost looks like a photograph!!

The teddy bear image itself is adorable and I’d seen a lot of grey and brown teddy bears floating around Pinterest.  So I decided to change things up and make my bears multicoloured.  I absolutely love the result – what do you think?

I stamped each bear in two different colours and then added the background splash and the ‘love & hugs’ sentiment from the new Sunshine Sayings stamp set (the background ‘flecks’ were achieved by me dipping my wink of stellar pen into the ink pad and ‘flicking’ it over the cardstock.)  The cards were cutely size at 4.5″ x 4.5″ with the whisper white card front measuring 4″x 4″, the mat layer measuring 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ and the whisper white card base measuring 4.5″ x 9″ & scored in half.

The colours I used for each bear was (top row, from left to right) – bermuda bay & dapper denim, pumpkin pie & cajun craze, so saffron & delightful dijon (bottom row, from left to right) – mint macaron & cucumber crush, wisteria wonder & elegant eggplant and finally flirty flamingo & sweet sugarplum.  I found that I achieved the best stamped result with my bears by stamping off each of the three stamps once, to achieve the soft teddy bear look I wanted.  My mat layer was coordinated with the darker shade of ink stamped on each teddy bear.  I first saw this stamp set at Stampin’ Up!’s onstage event in Telford in April this year and immediately liked it, but one try of this stamp set and you’ll be as hooked on baby bear as I am 😍😍😍  Please watch the video below to see my short demo of how the bear image is stamped and don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel xx
