As you know, It was my lovely friend Jackie’s 40th birthday on Saturday, and as the theme of her party was underwater, I decided to make some birthday favours to coordinate using the Magical Mermaid Stamp Set. Here’s what I came up with.
I love the tranquil colours – soft sea foam, coastal cabana, pacific point and night of navy. I backed the stitched oval label to a silver foil die cut using that beautiful die from the stitched labels framelits dies, and tied it onto the pillow box using some jute twice. This twine is still on the clearance rack – it is brilliant for 3D projects and such a bargain at the moment!
I did some tone on tone stamping on the pillow boxes for added interest, but so as not to detract from the labels themselves.
Love how these boxes turned out, hope the recipients liked them too xx
The August challenge for my Scrapbooking Global Group was ‘Make it Metallic’ and I decided it was time do something with these photos of my son’s first trip to the aquarium.
I cut the photos to 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ and matted them on some copper foil sheets cut at 4″ x 4″.
Continuing the underwater theme, the Under the Sea framelits dies featured heavily in my design. I love the mesh net die and cut those from crumb cake cardstock before covering them in versamark and heat embossing them with silver and copper embossing powder. I did the same thing to the ‘fish’ letters so that they took on an antiquey look.
I then cut the accent pieces from silver and champagne foil sheets.
The embellishments were a mix of retired stash and basic Sahara sand sequins.
This yellow daffodil delight background is a bit of a break from my usual white layout. White is still more me, but I liked the fun element to this layout and colourway – much better suited to my boy! xx
